For this project, I decided to create a digital composition of a hand gesture I use in my everyday life. The purpose of this design was to create a composition that could be considered unique but also something that viewers can quickly familiarise themselves with. People can soon familiarise themselves with the design not only because the design of the composition was based on a sketch of my using that same gesture but also because the gesture symbolises luck or, in some cases, hope. This is further emphasised by having the word ‘Hope’ be part of the composition.
The proposed design is aimed at a wide variety of users, its simple yet positive design allows for it to appeal to a lot of people. Overall, this design is mainly for users who have simplistic taste in design, like colours that are fairly light and also like t-shirt designs that blend easily with other styles of casual clothing.

The shirt itself would ideally be worn in sunny environments that allow for smart causal clothing as the light colours of the hand composition and the white colour of the t-shirt will blend in well. The T-shirt itself can be combined with various different types of smart casual clothing not only because the overall design is simple but also because the hand composition gives it a natural aesthetic. The composition of the hand itself is also designed in such a way that it still remains natural in its overall look. This is not only because the shape of the original sketches of the hand was kept but also because a light cream colour was chosen to act as the skin colour, and the small thin lines in the hand are supposed to emphasise the wrinkles that are seen on my hand when making that gesture..
The photos of the composition, both on its own and on the T-shirt, look relatively consistent for the most part; however, the colours on the final print of the composition look slightly darker than the original proposed digital design. The final design also looks slightly damaged, mainly because the composition was printed onto a sheet of vinyl, which was then heat-pressed onto the t-shirt.
The lighting of the picture was bright enough to see all the details of the composition, but the framing was too close which resulted in some of the t-shirt being cut.
